Imo govt commences recruitment of trainees

The Imo state Ministry of Public Utilities, Public Safety and Youth Entrepreneurship has commenced the recruitment of trainees for the Imo Tobacco Control Programme.

The Commissioner in-charge of the ministry, Dr Iheanyi Nwachukwu, said in a statement in Owerri on Tuesday that only degree holders in public administration or the sciences were eligible to apply.

Nwachukwu called on eligible applicants to pick the recruitment forms from his office, adding that such forms should be returned on or before April 28.

The commissioner said the graduates would be trained to become smoking advisors and specialist stop smoking advisors.

He said they would start work immediately on completion of the training, stressing that it was part of the state government’s efforts to provide basic amenities for the people. (NAN)
