Ex-Ghana international Stephen Appiah has been handed a trial by Singapore League side Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota FC, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The former Juventus star has been a free agent since leaving Serbian side FK Vojvodina  last year where he played an influential role in helping the team to secure Europa League play-off last term.

The 32-year-old refused to extend his contract with the ambitious Serbian side following their failure to meet his wage demands.

DPMM FC have been linked with a move for the midfielder, as the club is reportedly looking for replacement for midfielder Stephane Auvray.

“We cannot say much at the moment. We will see how it goes.  We need to look at the player.  Look at his fitness and stuff,” DPMM FC goalkeeping coach Hj Zainol Ariffin Hj Jumat told The Brunei Times.

Appiah has previously failed to land a deal with Iranian club Persepolis.
