Busunya grateful to President

President John MahamaPresident John MahamaThe chiefs and people of Busunya, the capital of the Nkoranza North District, have commended the President, Mr John Dramani Mahama, for awarding a contract for the Asekye-Krukese — Busunya trunk road to be tarred.

They said the road would facilitate the smooth transportation of farm produce and people to and from the area.

They were also appreciative of the efforts of the government at constructing the roads at Busunya to give the district capital a face lift.

Addressing a community forum at Busunya on Saturday, Mr Oheneba Yeboah, central committee chairman, pledged that the people of the area would offer the necessary support to the President in governing the country.

Mr Yeboah called on the youth to bury their political differences and forge ahead in unity and help in developing the area since that would be in their own interest.

The central committee chairman announced that the people of the area had expressed their displeasure with the performance of the former DCE, Mr Kwadwo Agyei Dwomoh, saying he did not perform to their expectation.

According to Mr Yeboah, the DCE failed to work in collaboration with the traditional authorities and opinion leaders of the communities, hence, the challenges he faced during his administration.

He, therefore, pleaded with the President to consider the plight of the people and appoint a district chief executive who would be the favourite of the entire people of the Nkoranza North District so that he would win their trust and confidence.

Mr Yeboah appealed to the government to help in the rehabilitation of the boys dormitory of the Busunya Senior High School, which recently had its roof ripped off by a rainstorm.

The Chief of Busunya, Nana Okofo Nyarko-Gyabaah II,  who chaired the meeting, urged the people to come together and contribute effectively towards the development of the area as it served as a district capital.

He added his voice to the call on the President to appoint a district chief executive who would listen to the  people so that the people would team up with the person to develop the district.

Nana Nyarko-Gyabaah called on the non-resident citizens to visit the place during festive occasions such as Christmas and Easter and contribute their quota towards the development of the area.
