Body of drowned girl recovered

After four days of intensive search, the body of Little Pricilla Afful, alias Maame Adwoa, who got drowned during a heavy downpour at Asuoyeboa in Kumasi last Wednesday evening has been found.

The body, which was recovered from the Abonsua River in which she got drowned last Saturday, was in a state of decomposition at the time it was found.

The recovery of the body turned the Asuoyeboa community into a state of mourning.

Many residents wept uncontrollably as they sympathised with Akua Pokua, the mother of the deceased.

The body has been deposited at  the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) mortuary for autopsy.

Two girls, siblings identified as Gloria Dankwa, eight, and Maame Adwoa, two, were swept away by flood waters at Asuoyeboa after the River Abonsua, which had overflowed its banks, entered their house.
