The National Women’s Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita De Soso has urged Ghanaians to consider using ‘Traditional Medicine’ whiles doctors are on strike so as the nation will not lose innocent souls due to doctors action.

Speaking on Adom FM, Anita De Soso believes while doctors are waiting on Government to hear their dilemma; Ghanaians should not hesitate to practice the use of herbal medicine for survival.

“We must encourage the use of traditional medicine because that is very helpful and will go a long way to help the deprived ones. Again we must educate the public on prescriptions, it is worrisome, and people just take medicines anyhow.

“… Government must help to revamp the traditional medicine and stop the importation of China medicines that are sometimes expired before reaching Ghana. Traditionally, our herbal medicines here are good,” she advised.

She however said “government should hand over all public hospitals to the security services since the police and military hospitals, no matter what the situation is, they will never embark on a strike”.

The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has given indication to government that, it would stimulate the second stage of their strike if their grievances are not been addressed as soon as possible.

Dr. Frank Serebour who is the General Secretary of the Association is purportedly to have said, doctors will activate the second phase of their strike by suspending emergency service that will come before them if government turns death ears on their plight.
