Man Defiles Daughter

The Abura Dunkwa Police have arrested a 50-year-old man, Kojo Say for defiling his 13-year-old biological daughter at Mpeseduadze in the Abura-Asebu-kwamankese (AAK) District of the Central Region.

The suspect has been transferred to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service in Cape Coast.

He would soon be arraigned before a Cape Coast Court.

Briefing Daily Guide over the weekend, the AAK District Police Commander, DSP Bernard Twum-Berimah, said the incident happened on April 15, 2013 at Mpeseduadze.

He stressed that the residents arrested the suspect and brought him and the daughter to his outfit.

DSP Twum-Berimah stated that during interrogation it was discovered the child’s mother had divorced the suspect and the victim was living with the aunt in Kumasi.

He added that the aunt brought the child to the area to celebrate Easter with the family.

The Police Commander hinted that the victim told her aunt she wanted to visit the father and the aunt agreed.

DSP Twum-Bermah disclosed that the victim spent the night with her father, and noted the suspected had sexual intercourse with the daughter twice that night.

He said during interrogation, the father admitted committing the crime, and said he did not know why he had sex with the daughter twice.

According to him, his daughter, who wanted to be escorted to the urinal, woke him up, but upon their return he decided to have sex with her.

A police medical form was issued to the victim to go to the Abura Dunkwa Government Hospital where the result confirmed the act.
