Ebusua Dwarfs striker Richard Gakpe says the 6-1 thrashing handed to Real Tamale United is only a product of the team’s hard work in recent weeks.
The Cape Coast side ran riot over the bottom club destined for relegation in Sunday’s Premier League game.
Dwarfs surrendered a late goal to lose 2-1 to Asante Kotoko last weekend.
This, the striker says inspired the team to work harder to pick up subsequent wins of which the 6-1 mauling is only a by-product.
“The 6-1 was expected, for us the players we are not surprised at all,” he said.
“We should have actually beaten Kotoko last week but for a momentary loss of concentration.
“We know our team and players are very good and therefore it was only a matter of time for such a huge scoreline to come by.
“RTU is not that bad but we were that good and the 6-1 is only a manifestation of our hardwork in recent times.”
Dwarfs move up to fourth in the Ghanaian top flight and will next travel to take on Berekum Chelsea in the midweek game.
