Aduana Stars were beaten 2-1 at King Faisal.

King Faisal continued their impressive run under stop-gap coach Prince Acheampong by beating Aduana Stars 2-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

Striker Farouk Mohammed hit the opener for Faisal as early as the 11th minute but Alex Asamoah connected home a Godfred Saka free-kick  five minutes before the break to level the scoring for Aduana.

Farouk was on hand once again to set up a penalty for Faisal which was converted by on-loan Asante Kotoko striker Kofi Owusu late in the game.

This was a game that was keenly contested in the middle by both sides.

Alex Asamoah should have scored first for Aduana but he poked a close range effort over the crossbar in the 6th minute.

Faisal had enough patience in their bid up and created decent chances and they scored dully took the lead through Farouk.

Saka’s free-kick was superb and Asamoah connected home.

Farouk came into the limelight once more as he won a penalty that was contested by the Aduana players.

Owusu converted, Asamoah scored again for Aduana but his goal was controversially ruled out.
