AshGold will be without their leading striker Yakubu Mohammed when they face league leaders Medeama SC in the Ghanaian Premier League on Sunday.

Yakubu who has netted 9 times this season for the Miners is serving suspension after picking a booking in the memorable 2-1 win over Hearts last weekend at the Len Clay Stadium.

However, the Local Black Stars striker believes his side can spring a surprise at the T&A Park despite his absence.

“Even though I’m an influential figure in the team, I believe that without me, they can still pull the biggest surprise of the day,” he said.

The Miners will also miss the service of midfielder Bernard Akuffo in Takwa.

Elsewhere in Accra, David Duncan is expected to name influential midfielder Obed in his team as they host Amidaus Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Striker Kofi Nti Boakye is not in the Kotoko side will face New Edubiase United in Bekwai.

The 26-year-old was nursing a foot injury but things worsened for him when he got involved in a car crash on Saturday morning in Kumasi.

It is unclear whether Berekum Chelsea will have attacker Latif Salifu back from a minor injury but striker Saddick Adams is 50-50 for the trip to Wa to face All Stars.
