Nana Bawumia Supreme Court

James Agalga, Member of Parliament for Builsa North constituency has criticised the petitioners in the 2012 election petition case currently before the Supreme Court, for their “unpreparedness” for the hearing.

Speaking on Citi FM’s The Big Issue, lawyer Agalga noted that the posture adopted by Dr. Bawumia during cross examination showed clearly the unpreparedness of the petitioners.

He noted that since the NPP were the ones seeking to overturn the 2012 presidential election results, they should have had their facts right before mounting the witness stand.

“Day one of the proceedings in court clearly summed up how unprepared the petitioners were to proceed with their own case.

On day one, I saw in them [petitioners]] a mark of unpreparedness.”

The NPP is in court challenging President Mahama’s legitimacy as winner of the 2012 Presidential Election.

Hearing of the case begins on Monday April 22.
