Kumasi, April 18, GNA – King Faisal are optimistic of surviving the elite division despite the recent inconsistencies in their technical department.

Head Coach, Mallam Yahaya is in Germany on a temporary leave for personal reasons; forcing his deputy, Prince Acheampong to take up the top spot in his absence.

Prior to this, Steven Abugri, who guided the Kumasi-based club back to the top flight left his position during the first round of the 2012/2013 Premier League.

In the wake of the inconsistencies with their bench, Akomea Sakyi Boateng, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the club told GNA Sports the development will have no negative impact in their bid to beat the drop.

He has reposed confidence in Acheampong, underscoring his capability to guide the club to a good spell.

‘We believe that Coach Acheampong is fit to stand-in for Yahaya in spearheading the technical affairs of the club.’

He affirmed that Yahaya, will return to his post upon his return to the country, though details of the exact comeback date remain sketchy.

Faisal have experienced an off-colour season this term, perched on the 11th position with just 27 points, and Boateng has declared they will approach the remaining nine games with utmost attention.

He said the club still dreamt of a top four finish and working towards the achievement of that goal.

Sequel to that, the club has mobilized resources to motivate the playing body to give off their best in the ensuing games.

Faisal will be at home to Aduana Stars in a Week 22 fixture on Sunday, April 21 at the Baba Yara Stadium. GNA
