Police at Tema Community One have arrested a 26-year-old caterer, Abigail Lamptey, for using an offensive weapon on a doughnut seller, Georgina Owusu, 45.
Narrating her story, the victim told The Chronicle in Tema that in the afternoon of Friday 12 April, 2013, she went to separate two boys, aged 6 and 7, who were fighting over a ten pesewa coin.
According to her, Abigail, a neighbour who she had had a misunderstanding with some time ago, resorted to casting insinuations at her, and so a quarrel ensued between them.
She further stated that Abigail rushed from her room and used an unknown weapon to inflict multiple injuries on her.
First on her right hand, and followed it with another to the left breast, neck, and back of her hand.

Consequently, Abigail Lamptey was arrested on Saturday and granted police enquiry bail the same day.
On Thursday 18 April, 2013, the case was sent to the Tema Circuit Court, but the prosecutors advised that the charge sheet be changed from causing harm to use of offensive weapon.
