Accra, April 17, GNA – Ms Linda Lorwie, 28, on Wednesday received GH¢ 10,000 as her prize, for emerging as the winner for the sixth week edition, of the Vodafone Cool Chop Promotion.
Toufiq Ahmed, a 24 -year- old National Service Person, who placed second, received a LED Television set, whilst Mr Osei Bonsu, a 28 -year- old business man, received a Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Ms Lorwie told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that she believed the several text messages she sent, was what earned her the prize.
She said there was no other secret to her luck. “There is no secret. I just saw the adverts on television and radio, and then decided to try and see whether it works.’
When asked what she seeks to do with her money, she said:”I would use part of the money to text some more because I want to win the Hyundai Santafed car price. I am yet to think of what to do with the rest,” she said.
Mr Akombia Koomson, Value Added Services Manager of Vodafone-Ghana, said more than 3,000 winners had been rewarded during the six-week period of the promotion.
He said the three- month promotion offered hundred prizes daily and three prizes every week.
“We end in May, and there are more prizes to be won, including a piece of land at lakeside Estates in Accra, GH¢ 10,000 and a house,” he said.
Mr Koomson said the promotion was launched to reward customers of Vodafone, and help them improve upon their lives.
To win a prize, Vodafone customers are supposed to text “win” to 4141 as many times as possible.
