ENUGU—National Vice Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, South East zone, Colonel Austin Akobundu (rtd.), Thursday, denied allegation by Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Benjamin Uwajumogu, that he and some other persons offered him (speaker) N3 billion bribe to facilitate the impeachment of Governor Rochas Okorocha.
The PDP chieftain described the allegation as “infantile, irresponsible and disingenuous,” adding that “it feeds into an emerging picture of politics in Imo State since April 2011which is based on dishonourable propaganda and flagrant disregard for the truth.
“It is another cock and bull tale from a discredited government of confidence tricksters who are clutching at any straw for survival.”
