Accra, April 18, GNA – Derby clashes in Accra and Bekwai headlines the Week 22 matches of the 2012/2013 Premier at the weekend.

Resurging Hearts of Oak face difficult test against newcomers Amidaus Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium whilst Edubiase hosts under-pressure Asante Kotoko in yet another tricky test at the Gyamfi Park.

Hearts, despite having lost once in the second halve are still languishing in the drop zone and must cough out a replica of their recent outings to make victory certain against their guests.

Amidaus, will no doubt serve a tall mountain for their hosts after a near fine showing as debutants in the elite division. In Yahaya Mohamed, they have in their foldĀ  the sensation of the first halve of the season, who has scored 10-times and posed threats to opponents and evident in the reverse fixture which ended two-all in the port city of Tema last year.

Hearts have been on fire, with victories in their last four games at home and appear to have an edge in the encounter with the away record of their visitors as the measuring rule. Captain Mahatma Otoo continues to shine in front of goal, pummeling himself to the summit of the scorers chart on 11 goals, one more than Yahaya.

In Bekwai, Asante Kotoko will seek to return to their base unscathed at a venue which has served their waterloo since Edubiase joined the top flight. The Porcupine Warriors lost at the same place last season and with the recent happenings, the trip remains woolly.

After their exit from the continental club championship, the league offers the Porcupine Warriors’ some hope of a silverware besides the FA Cup trophy which they are in the quarters; and cannot afford a slip against a club that have been shades nowhere near their best. Edubiase have laboured all season; though will find Kotoko a hard nut, playing at their favoured grounds gives them a chance.

There will be another regional derby at Tema as Tema Youth plays host to Liberty Professionals in a match of equals. Any result other than the maximum points will see the Tema lads nearing the exit as far as the premiership is concerned after suffering losses in their two outstanding games.

Leaders Medeama will sort things out with AshantiGold at the Tarkwa & Abosso Park. The centre of attraction will be Bashir Hayford who crossed carpet from the Tarkwa-based clubs to the Miners fold at the start of the second round, and will be hoping to prove his old employers that he has yet to lose his winning touch.

At the Baba Yara Stadium, King Faisal must work overly above themselves against Aduana Stars to be certain of maintaining a smile at the end of the game whilst Dwarfs are favoured to further sink Real Tamale United (RTU) in their encounter at the Robert Mensah Stadium, Cape Coast.

Berekum Arsenals will be too much for Heart of Lions at the Golden City Park whilst All Stars and Berekum Chelsea sort things out at the Wa Park. GNA
