Member of Parliament for Akwapim South, Osei Bonsu Amoah is cautioning the General Secretaries of National Democratic Congress and New Patriotic Party, against making unguarded remarks in the ongoing hearing of the 2012 election petition by the Supreme Court.
Mr. O.B Amoah described some of the behaviours of Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie a.k.a “Sir John” as needless, warning, their comments could lead to a mockery of the judicial process.
The two have been speaking to the media on the first two days of the court’s hearing of the substantive case.
They bantered on Asempa FM’s political show ‘Ekosii Sen’ Wednesday, as they analysed proceedings in court and in the process calling themselves names.
The MP believes this could send negative signals to their supporters and heighten tension.
Speaking on Adom TV’s ‘Badwam’ programme Thursday, the former Sports Minister urged the media to blacklist the two men from further commenting on the court proceedings.
The flagbearer of the opposition NPP, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, his running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Chairman, Jake Obtsebi Lamptey are challenging the proclamation of President John Dramani Mahama as winner of the 2012 December elections.
They are alleging that the elections were fraudulently procured to favour Mr. John Mahama.
The court on Wednesday adjourned hearing to Thursday April 18, after the running mate of the NPP in the 2012 election Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia gave his evidence.
