Tema Youth’s survival chances were dealt a blow after losing 2-1 to AshantiGold in a delayed Ghana Premier League fixture at home on Wednesday.
AshGold’s leading scorer Yakubu Mohammed opened the scoring after 22 minutes at the Tema Park.
Striker Louis Agyemang doubled the lead for the visitors in the 53rd minutes to put the match beyond their hosts.
Ghana U20 striker Francis Narh grabbed the consolation for Tema Youth in the 63rd minute.
AshantiGold have improved to fourth place and five points behind leader Medeama.
Tema Youth are still third from bottom; four points adrift safety.
