Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Ephraim Avea Nsoh, has appealed to the paramount chief of the Wechau Traditional Area, Naa Imori Gomah II, to prevent a looming chieftaincy conflict at Ga in the Upper West Region.

The looming conflict is between Wa chief, Naa Fuseinu Seidu Pelpuo IV, and Ga chief Naa Adaw Daubiri, about the legitimacy of the latter.

Reports are that Naa Fuseinu Seidu Pelpuo IV, is conspiring with some people of Ga to remove the sitting Ga chief, Naa Adam Daubiri who has been on the skin since 2004.

Responding appeals to by the paramount chief of the area to intervene in brewing conflict in the Wa West area, the Minister admonished the feuding factions to use judicial and legitimate means to solve the numerous chieftaincy disputes that have plagued the region.

He said government has interest in chieftaincy affairs because they are agents of development but makes conscious efforts not to interfere in their work.
