Ghanaian hot prospect Thomas Teye Partey continues to dominate the headlines in Spain’s reserves division as he scored a wonderful goal for Atletico Madrid II in their 5-2 comprehensive win over Fuenlabrada.

The 19-year-old midfield engineer had set up Momar Ndoye and Gerard Oliva for Atletico’s second and third goals before he grabbed his own in a fabulous fashion.

Partey, Atletico’s main midfield orchestrator, received the ball at the edge of the box, darted to the left with a measure of artistry before picking the top left corner with a sweeping half-volley on the 87th minute mark.

Partey has been an interesting revelation at Atletico Madrid since arriving in Spain in 2011 and has made three senior team appearances.

His relentless ball retention abilities and zeal to slice up opposition midfield with a sadistic air of delight, has earned him comparison to Spain’s Andres Iniesta while others believe his style has more resemblance with Xavi Hernández.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has already spotted the former Tema Youth starlet’s qualities and named him in his 18-man squad for the 1-0 loss against Real Sociedad but he was an unused substitute.

The goal marks his fifth of the season from midfield.

He could be earn a call-up into Sellas Tetteh’s U20 squad to justify his inclusion for the FIFA U20 World Cup which comes off in June in Turkey – where more international aggrandisement could be available.
