DEPT – Open Pit Mining
Immediate Supervisor – Blasting Shift Supervisor
Key Responsibility:
- This role basically entails charging and firing blast holes in a safe and efficient manner using variety of explosives depending on the drill pattern, rock type and hole dimensions.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Applicants must have Ghanaian Blastman Certificate of Competency issued by the Mines Inspectorate
- Must have worked as a Blastman in a Mining Environment for not less than 3 years
- Must be conversant with Ghanaian Mining Regulations relevant to drill and blast and Explosive Act
- Ability to mark up drill patterns and do charge up without supervision
- Must be conversant with firing procedures including electric firing and re-entry procedures
- Applicants must possess at least SSCE certificate or GCE Ordinary Level Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Must be conversant with safety procedures related to the job
