AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng says victory over Juventus in Sunday’s showdown in the Italian seria A will prove crucial in their quest of finishing second this season.

Milan missed the chance to move up the ladder after drawing goalless at home to second-placed Napoli last weekend.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men have been impressive since the start of the year but trail Napoli by four points with six games to spare.

The Ghanaian international says victory over the old ladies of Italian football on Sunday, would put them in pole position of challenging for the Uefa Champions automatic slot.

“We are still there or thereabouts and we want to finish second, and to do that we have to win in Turin,” Boateng said

“The matches against Juventus are always special. There is no need to talk them up further.

Boateng has declared himself fit for the clash at the San Siro despite concerns over his fitness.
