Hiplife Grand Papa, Reggie Rockstone, according to reports reaching Myjoyonline.com, has inked a mouthwatering deal to be a judge on the maiden Glo X-Factor Africa.

X-Factor, a reality television singing competition which has gained prominence in the US and the UK is set to also unearth singing talents in the African sub-region.

The concept of the series is to find new singing talents, solo or a group, aged 12 and over, drawn from public auditions.

Although organizers are yet to officially announce the judges for the maiden show which will be staged in Nigeria, there are reports that Reggie Rockstone and Nigerian rapper M.I. are the two key judges for the show.

When Myjoyonline.com contacted Reggie Rockstone to confirm the authenticity of the reports, he laughed it off only to say he cannot affirm or deny it but promised to give an official communication on the matter latest Saturday.

Sources close to the legendary rapper have told Myjoyonline.com that the deal between Reggie and organizers of the reality show is worth about US$500,000.

The source also added that Reggie, who is also a Glo Ambassador, will be clothed by Black Entertainment Television (BET) award winner Sarkodie’s clothing line – Sark Collection – during the six-month show.

Sources close to the organizers say, Reggie and M.I. were selected over several renowned personalities including 2Face Idibia, Don Jazzy, eLDee, Dare Art Alade, Obi Asika, and Cobhams.

It is reported that veteran Nigerian singer, actress and politician, Onyeka Onwenu will be the third judge for the reality show.

Toolz of Beat FM and The Juice on Ndani TV, has been picked as the presenter of the Glo X-Factor Africa.

Organizers are yet to hold auditions in selected cities – including Accra and Kumasi – for the reality show.

The winner of the show is expected to walk home with a juicy package including a recording and management contract with world renowned music company Sony Music Entertainment.
