Asante Kotoko have reassigned their Supporters and Public Relations Manager, Listowell Yesu Bukarson to the club’s Marketing Department in an apparent management shakeup.

The decision to reassign existing management members to other sectors was taken at a meeting on Monday.

The changes to be confirmed in the coming days is seen by many as a desperate move to appease irate fans of the side.

The Kotoko camp has been in massive distress lately following their exit from the CAF Champions League at the penultimate hurdle to Algerian club JSM Bejaia.

Bukarson thus becomes the first major casualty in the apparent management shakeup.

Many believe his ‘insensitive’ utterances after Kotoko’s Champions League exit has caused him his job.

But club chairman Dr K.K Sarpong is quick to dismiss this assertion as he defends his reshuffling plan.

“Listowell (Bukarson) has not been sacked by Kotoko, he has been reassigned to a department where we believe he can serve even better,” he said.

“It is part of the general plan to get the best out of our competent hands so I see nothing wrong with it.”

There are hints of further changes to be made to the management with Administrative Manager, Ben Nti the most talked of as the next casualty.

Kotoko remain in contention to defend their league trophy as they now lie third – just two points behind leaders Medeama SC.

The Porcupine Warriors are also through to the quarter finals of the MTN FA Cup competition.
