Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak have given striker Mahatma Otoo two weeks to decide whether he would sign a new deal at the club, according to reports in the local media.
The 21-year-old’s current contract with the 2000 African champions runs out at the end of the Ghanaian season and he has been linked with a move abroad.
English side Sunderland and Olympique Lyon as well as Sundowns of South Africa have reportedly expressed interest in landing the hit-man.
However, Hearts are interested in tying down the striker and want him to ink a new deal as a resurgent Hearts side aim to stage return to Africa next season by winning the MTN FA Cup.
Mahatma who had an unsuccessful spell with Tunisian giants Esperance three seasons ago would favour a move abroad.
He has scored 13 goals in all competitions for Hearts this season and is a joint-top scorer of the Ghanaian Premier League with 11 goals.
