Governance Experts Say President Mahama Is On Course After 100 Days

President John Mahama has attained his first hundred days in office. While critics say the days were bedeviled with industrial disturbances, governance experts believe President Mahama has set the tone for good governance.

The Convener of the Forum for good Governance, Dr Clement Apaak takes Radio Ghana through what the President has done so far.

He described the President as a tough and fair person who is determined to achieve the ‘better Ghana Agenda’.

A Political Science Lecturer, Dr Alidu Seidu has described the first 100 days of President Mahama’s administration as the most difficult and challenging in the governance of this country.

He said the President has shown maturity in handling the energy crisis, and the labour unrest among others.

Dr Seidu said even though the President has made some gains, more could have been achieved within the hundred days.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Lands, Forestry and Natural Resources, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini says the decisions taken by the President in the first one hundred days shows he is decisive, and spot on issues.

Speaking to Radio Ghana’s correspondent, Alhaji Fuseini said the energy crisis and the current labour unrest have not distracted the President but he has remained focused towards achieving the Better Ghana Agenda.

In a related development, the Movement For Mahama has sent a solidarity message to President John Mahama on the occasion of his 100th day in office today.

In a statement, the convener of the group, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah said after 100 days in office, President Mahama has proved his worth regarding the energy crisis, the water nightmare and the fuel crunch among others.

The group said the focus of the Mahama administration must not be stifled but rather be emboldened by the challenges and setbacks in these past few months.

The group acknowledges the fact that the 100 days of the NDC have not been entirely successful but is of the hope that things will get better.

The group however asked President Mahama to be focused in order to translate the better Ghana Agenda into reality.

The group has also assured the President that the NDC and the good people of Ghana will continue to give him and his government their unflinching support.
