The Board of Directors of Glico General Insurance (Glico Gen) has appointed Mr Alfred Yaw Ofori-Kuragua as the new Managing Director of the company. He was introduced to the management and staff of the company at a short ceremony in Accra.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Ofori-Kuragua was the General Manager, Technical Operations, of SIC Insurance Company, a press statement from the company said. He is an insurance professional with in-depth knowledge and experience in the business, the statement added.
It mentioned underwriting of marine, oil and gas insurance as some of the areas that Mr Ofori-Kuragua specialises in, having obtained experiences from various courses, seminars and workshops in and outside Ghana.
“Clearly, the new Glico General MD brings to the company a wealth of professional knowledge and experience in insurance to add to the already existing cutting-edge skills available to the company,” the statement, signed by the Corporate Affairs Department of Glico Gen, said.
It quoted Mr Ofori-Kuragu as saying “I will work relentlessly together with the Board, Management and staff to take Glico General to a new era of success and accomplishments; ensuring strategic management of business operations and maintain the leadership position of the company in the insurance industry.”
He thanked the company’s board for giving him the opportunity to serve and reaffirmed his resolve to working with them in moving the company forward. Glico Gen is a member of the GLICO GROUP and a leading insurer in the country’s insurance industry.
