Chief Executive Officer of CDH wins IPR award

Mr Emmanuel K. Adu-Sarkodee, Group Chief Executive Officer of CDH Financial Holdings Limited, has been presented with an Excellence Award for being the best in Corporate Turn-around and Crisis Management.

The citation covering the award, which was presented by the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana, described the winner as one-of-a-kind entrepreneur and business executive who had since 2004, quietly pulled off a number of incredible corporate turn-around and led successful crisis management programmes in Ghana.

A statement from the IPR, copied to the Ghana News Agency, said Mr Adu-Sarkodee caught the eyes of CDH Financial Holdings Limited in 2004 when industry regulators placed a moratorium on the operations of the company.

“You actively engaged the relevant stakeholders and effectively managed the crisis. Within one year CDH Financial Holdings Limited regained its licences and restarted operations.”

According to the statement, Mr Adu-Sarkodee also took on the challenge at Benefits Insurance in 2006. Benefits Insurance benefited from his talents and experience and now operated as Regency Alliance and Capital Express.

The statement said: “When Ivory Finance found itself in turbulence in 2007, you stepped up to the plate, leading the effort and successfully took it from intensive care and back to the path of prosperity.”

It added that Mr Adu-Sarkodee expertly managed the levers of success at Phoenix Insurance in 2008 and brought out two companies: Phoenix Life Assurance and Phoenix Insurance, both currently highly placed members of the Ghana Club 100.

CDH Financial Holdings Limited is now a 25-year old diversified financial services group, with wide-ranging interests in commodities trading, investments and lending, stock brokerage, asset and fund management, general and life insurance and the hospitality and leisure sectors.

“Mr Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee, you are an outstanding achiever. In recognition of your gallant efforts as a champion of corporate turn-around and crisis management, the Institute of Public Relations (Ghana) is proud to present to you this special award,” the statement said.
