Economic Analyst at the Centre for Policy Analysis (CEPA), Dr Joe Abbey has recommended that government adopts a more social negotiation approach to finding a lasting solution to the various agitations that have hit the labour front in recent weeks.

In an interview with Citi News, Dr Abbey said Ghanaians needed to be given a proper understanding of the difficulties associated with the migration process in the Single Spine Salary Structure.

“Get organized labour, get civil society representing the citizenry, get the government and make sure that we understand the difficulties or the problems with the migration process.

That we all understand that as a nation nobody is excluded from what the constraints are. Then we can come up with a solution,” he stressed.

According to him, when the problem has been clarified, the nation will rise up to the occasion, counter the situation and be able to find solutions to the problem.

“I would like that we recreate the situation in which we are all searching for a solution to a national problem,” he added.
