The Deputy Propaganda Secretary of the ruling NDC, Solomon Nkansah says the 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo will never become president of Ghana.

According to him, no patriotic and discerning Ghanaian will entrust the future of the nation in the hands of someone who is “arrogant and self centered”.

Solomon Nkansah expressed this view when commenting on the ongoing election petition before the Supreme Court.

Nana Akufo-Addo and two others are challenging the legitimacy of President John Mahama who was declared winner by the Electoral Commission (EC) in the 2012 election.

The three petitioners are praying the country to overturn the verdict of the EC citing several irregularities and violation in the voting process.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Friday, Solomon Nkansah urged the NPP to psych its members up for an eminent defeat.

He noted evidence available to the NDC also indicates the so called proof the NPP is purporting to have is a figment of their imagination.

Solomon Nkansah rather called on the NPP to consider an early congress to elect a new leader because “age has caught up with Akufo-Addo”.

“Akufo-Addo went to court because he wants to remain NPP’s flagbearer for 2016. He should kiss his presidential ambition goodbye because no one will vote for an old man” he said.

The NDC man posited that his [Akufo-Addo] arrogance has deepened his woes and will forever be denied the chance to become President.

Solomon Nkansah said the only way the NPP can win power is to replace Nana Akufo-Addo with a vibrant candidate who can match up to President Mahama in 2016.
