Hearts, Kotoko eager to avoid each other in quarters

A host of Premier League sides are desperate not to play each other in the quarter-final of the MTN FA Cup ahead of next week’s draw.

With just two second-tier sides still in the hunt for the Cup, there will certainly be an all-premiership tie though the six team would have been hoping to avoid each other when the draw is made on Tuesday, April 16.

The FA Cup represents another route to silverware as the chase for the Premier League title still remains undecided for clubs like defending champions, Asante Kotoko, Medeama who are leading the log and Aduana Stars.

But for Hearts of Oak, who are way below the chasing pack for the league title, the FA Cup remains their surest bet of a title success this season.

However, meeting a rival could certainly bring to an end the dreams of Kotoko, Medeama, Aduana and Hearts.

Second-tier sides, Eleven Wise and Gold Stars are expected to keep pushing for the Cup against the elite campaigners.
