Sunderland have requested for three players from Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The English top-flight side want to assess players from Kotoko’s youth set-up and see if they can be handed permanent deals.
GHANASoccernet.com understands Kotoko are yet to decide on which players will be selected for the trip.
Both clubs have a partnership agreement with the two-time African champions which was signed in July 2011.
The partnership allows Sunderland to share its coaching and business expertise with the two-time African champions.
The Black Cats are also expected to offer practical support and advice in youth coaching, player development, fitness and medical matters, and football business strategy to the Porcupine Warriors.
It will be called former Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu had a two-week coaching programme at the Stadium of Light in February last year before going on to win the Ghana Premier League that season.
