Asante Kotoko chairman Dr. K.K Sarpong has assured supporters their monies are safe under his administration.

The current leadership of the club has come under immense criticisms following the side’s elimination from the CAF Champions League.

The camp of the Ghanaian champions have been boiling since crashing out of the prestigious competition on the away-goal’s-rule to Algerian side JSM Bejaia after playing out a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Many have raised questions over how enormous gains made with the sale of players in recent years have been spent.

Some of the critics have even accused Dr. Sarpong of personally misappropriating these funds, for which reason he should vacate his post with immediate effect.

But the business tycoon remains adamant the club’s finances are in the most competent hands with him at the helm.

“I want to assure the Kotoko supporters that if it is about their money, then they should go to sleep,” he told Accra-based Hot FM.

“They should be rest assured that I will use their money to improve the club.

“Rather than criticize with no basis and with no respect and decorum, they should be patting us on the back for making Kotoko a very attractive brand that we can market.”

The beleaguered chairman has been in the news for the wrong reasons for his retort to his critics within the Ghanaian media in what he claims is an attempt to make his administration unpopular.
