‘ISRAEL HAS MANY COLOURS AND IT’S IMPORTANT TO SHOW IT TO THE WORLD’ – YITYISH AYNAW, ISRAEL’S MISS WORLD REPRESENTATIVE





Accra, Ghana, 11th April 2013: Israel’s representative at this year’s Miss World Pageant, Yityish Aynaw has expressed her commitment to showcase the unique aspects of Israel at this year’s Miss World Pageant slated for September 28 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Aynaw was crowned Miss Israel 2013 at Haifa’s International Convention Center in February.

The 21 year old Ethiopian born beauty queen who served as an Officer in Israel’s Military Police stated in that ‘it’s important to have a first beauty queen from the Ethiopian community. Israel has many ethnic groups and many colors, and it’s important to show it to the world’.

The number of Israelis born in Ethiopia and to Ethiopian-born parents is estimated to be about 100,000, scattered in cities and towns across the country. This year’s edition of Miss World Pageant will host 125 beauties from around the globe. The winner will spend a year travelling to represent the Miss World Organization and its various causes.
