Ijaw condemn killing of policemen in Bayelsa

Yenagoa—The leadership of Ijaw National Congress, INC, has condemned the killing of policemen on official assignment by suspected militants in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

President of INC, Senator Tari Sekibo, who led other executives of the organisation on a condolence visit to the state Commissioner of Police, said it was unfortunate that such dastardly act occurred in Ijaw territory.

He said that INC, under his leadership, will not be fettered in its quest for peace and unity despite the present predicament.

He said: “The new leadership of INC has resolved to take pro-active steps and intervene in communities and groups, where there are disagreement before they escalate to disastrous heights like the case involving the death of the policemen, which was said to have resulted from disagreement among rival groups.”
