Real Madrid have been boosted by news that Michael Essien’s injury is not as bad as first feared.
The Ghanaian international picked up a slight hamstring problem during Madrid’s 3-2 defeat at Galatasary in the second leg of the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday.
It was widely feared he could sit out for a number of weeks but sources close to the player has told GHANAsoccernet.com he will be fit for the semi-final of the Champions League.
Essien’s return to the pitch quicker-than-expected will serve as real boost for the Spanish giants ahead of the Champions League semi-final showdown.
Madrid will know their opponent after Friday’s draw with potential games against rivals Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich all possible.
