Asamoah Gyan is well on course to win his second consecutive league title with Al Ain after the club were awarded a 3-0 victory from the abandoned Pro League match against Al Ahli.
The UAE Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee declared Al Ain winners following Saturday’s controversial encounter at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai.
The match was concluded prematurely after a referee’s assistant was struck by an object thrown from a section of the stands reserved for Ahli fans.
Gyan sat the match due to injury.
Ahli have been ordered to play their next two home games behind closed doors at a neutral venue.
Al Ain now lead at the table with 11 points with six games remaining.
