“When Uncle (Prez Mills) died, I didn’t understand so I informed all our clan members that ‘if our uncle truly died a natural death, then he should rest peacefully; but if that is not the case, the person who killed him will not live beyond a year’ – The gods should expose the killer and make that person confess his sins,” Chief of late President Mills’ hometown.
It has emerged that the Queen mother of the head of the Odomna Family of Ekumfi Otuam, who also happens to be the Chief of Ekumfi Henakuma, Nana Ogya Boafo VII, virtually called on her gods to ruthlessly handle the “killers” of the late former President John Evans Atta Mills if he died under any controversial circumstance.
After series of denial and rubbishing of reports that appeared in today’s edition of the ‘Daily Guide’ and ‘Daily Searchlight’, listeners of Okay FM were taken by storm when a tape recording popped out; exposing the intent of Nana Ogya Boafo VII to seek revenge on behalf of late president Mills.
Before the tape was played on air to expose Nana Ogya Boafo VII, she had earlier on denied the story on Okay FM and noted that she only spoke to a journalist who happens to be a family member from Oman FM and informed him about a scandal that had rocked her shrine.
According to her, she feels peeved that her investigation to fish out the thieves who stole her items at her shrine had developed into a story surrounding the death of the late former President Mills.
“I heard people saying that I have kept mute over the death of President Mills because I had gone to take bribe. It is never true and none of our family members have been offered any bribe,” she said.
Unknown to her, the journalist had taped the conversation.
Oman Fm’s Michael Afful (the family member), in an interview with Okay FM, stood by the story and played the tape which captured Nana Ogya Boafo VII’s voice invoking the wrath of the gods on the late Mills’ killer(s).
On the tape, the queen mother was clearly heard on phone informing Michael Afful that: “When uncle (President Mills) died, I didn’t understand so I informed all our clan members that ‘if our uncle truly died a natural death, then he should rest peacefully; but if that isn’t the case, the person who killed him would not live beyond a year’.
