Accra, April, 9, GNA – A total of 409,747 candidates are writing the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) across the country with candidates from 724 public and private Senior High Schools.

Mrs Mariam Grant, Assistant Headmistress of St Aquinas Senior High School, told the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Tuesday that 862 candidates are to take part in the examination.

She said this year’s examination would involve the highest number of candidates from the two batches of final year students.

Mrs Grant said there were no students of absent and no examination malpractice.

She expressed satisfaction on how the students comported themselves and hoped it would continue like that throughout the examination.
