Tamale, April 9, GNA – Candidates writing the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Nakpanduri Senior High School, have been advised to discard any form of fear and anxiety in them to excel in the exams.

Nakpanduri Na, David Kansuk, Chief of Nakpanduri gave the advice at an encounter with the students prior to the commencement of the examination on Monday.

Mr Kuipo Harrison Salifu, Headmaster of the School told the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Tuesday that the visit of the Nakpanduri Chief was to urge the students to concentrate on the examination and excel in order to build their career.

He said Nakpanduri Na advised the students to live in harmony with one another with a common aim to develop their talents and contribute their quota to the development of their localities and the country as well.

Mr Salifu said the visit of the chief to the school became necessary because of the communal violence that erupted in the area last March.

Calm has since returned to the area and students and teachers are going about their duties without fear and intimidation.

‘All is set now for the students to start the Oral English examination. A bus was sent early morning to transport students from all the two ethnic groups to participate in the examination fully,’ he said.

It would be recalled that the renewed conflict between Bimobas and Konkombas raised concern regarding the possibility of the WASSCE candidates writing the exams.
