Ghana Home Loans, the nation’s leading mortgage provider have commenced a nationwide campaign to promote home ownership through the mortgage product.

The Ghana Home Loans Nationwide Mortgage Road-show 2013 was launched in Tamale on Monday, 18th March and has continued with a series of seminars and presentations in cities and towns across Ghana. Addressing a press conference at the Tamale launch, Kojo Addo-Kufuor, Chief Operating Officer at Ghana Home Loans said that the Road-show is the latest phase in the One Mortgage Project, a mission to create a nation of home owners ‘one mortgage at a time.

“Experienced mortgage specialists from Ghana Home Loans shall travel across Ghana to explain the mortgage product to the public. In the process, we intend to explain the features of a mortgage while dispelling popularly held misconceptions about the product”, Mr Addo-Kufuor said.

Listing the company’s contribution to the mortgage industry, Mr Ado-Kufuor mentioned that Ghana Home Loans pioneering role included weekly mortgage clinics, annual housing fairs, the Mortgage Borrower Education Video, establishment of real estate clubs on various campuses, the online estate agency – www.ghlpropertyfinder.com and an SMS subscription service.

“As part of the tour, we have also made it a point to visit as many tertiary campuses as possible to explain mortgages to the teaching and administration staff as well as the students, who are the next generation of home buyers”, Mr Addo-Kufuor added.

We are truly encouraged by the diversity in the backgrounds of our clients since it reflects various income groups in the society”.

“We are also pleased with the successful introduction of the 100% mortgage facility which was launched in 2012. This product makes it possible for those who have not saved their deposit but have adequate income to qualify for mortgage to immediately buy a home”. Mr Addo added.

The Road-show team has already travelled through Tamale, Sunyani, Kumasi, Takoradi, Ho, Cape Coast and Koforidua. Other locations on the route include Obuasi, Tarkwa, and Kenyase before the Road-show finally arrives in Accra for the Ghana Home Loans Housing Fair to be held in April.
