Kumasi, April 9, GNA – The Asante Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has created a website to keep its members, both home and abroad, adequately informed about its activities.

The goal is to use information and communication technology (ICT) to facilitate the work of the presbytery in terms of the spread of the gospel and mobilization of resources for outreach programmes.

The Reverend Dr Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, Chairperson of the Presbytery, launched the site www.asantepresbytery.org at a ceremony in Kumasi.

ICT, he noted, had become relevant in all facets of life and was an effective tool that could be deployed for the church’s development.

The church should take advantage of it to enhance its growth, he said, pointing out that many Christians had in recent times increased their knowledge of the Bible through the patronage of programmes on the internet.

Rev Dr Opuni-Frimpong advised the various districts under the presbytery to submit their development programmes on regular basis to help update the website.

The Very Rev Dr Sam Prempeh, a former Moderator, described the initiative as laudable and urged members to visit the site all the time to keep pace with the church’s activities.
