Kwadwo Asamoah’s Champions League dream crashes

Kwadwo Asamoah’s Champions League dream came crashing on Wednesday night with Juventus losing 2-0 at home to Bayern Munich.

The Italian champions failed to overturn a 2-0 deficit suffered in the first leg a week ago before a packed crowd at the Juventus Stadium.

A 64th minute strike by Mario Mandzukic complicated things for the Bianconeri as it meant they had to score four goals without letting anymore within the 26 minutes of regulation time left.

The tasked proved too much for Antonio Conte’s side who couldn’t even manage a consolation.

Juventus’ misery was even more compounded with substitute Claudio Pizzaro doubling the visitors’ lead in injury time to send the new German champions through on a smashing 4-0 aggregate scoreline.

The defeat now leaves only Michael Essien as Ghana’s sole representative in the prestigious competition with Real Madrid progressing into the semi finals 24 hours earlier.
