Starlets thump Novara 6-2 in friendly




Ghana’s U-17 ended their training tour of Italy with a 6-2 thumping of Serie B side, Novara’s U-20 team on Tuesday.

Two hat-tricks from Emmanuel Oti Essigba and Thomas Agyepong was enough to hand the Black Starlets a convincing win while Novara’s Jonas grabbed a brace.

Ghana coach Paa Kwesi Fabin made seven changes as the game continued.

The game rounded up Ghana’s preparations for the 2013 African Junior Championships which begins this weekend in Morocco.

In the first test match, the Black Starlets thrashed Swiss second-tier side FC Gossau 10-0 before losing 3-2 to Sampdoria in a similar exercise on Thursday.

Ghana have been handed a tough draw for the continental championship after drawing Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Congo in Group B.
