PDP plotting with labour to rig 2014 election – Osun ACN

ACTION Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Osun State, has alleged that Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, in the state has concluded plans to rig the election of 2014, using organised labour to create chaos before and after the election process, as allegedly done in 2003.

The party claimed authoritative information leaked to it from the meeting of PDP leaders in Osogbo, weekend, gave graphic details of how the plans to tamper with names on the voters’ list in each polling station; effect mass transfer of security personnel from the state perceived to be sympathetic to ACN; and orchestrate a massive ballot box snatching, while labour would be mobilised to go on strike before, and until the end of the election process.

A statement by Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, Director, ACN’s Directorate of Publicity, Research and Strategy, said: “PDP is alleged to be planning to set aside huge sum of money to influence labour to go on strike just before the election to sabotage the electoral process and create the chaos required to effect rigging.

“The grand design of this plan anchors on collaboration with criminal elements in Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Abuja headquarters, and the exercise of federal power over the Nigeria Police to destabilise the tight security network that has been put in place by the current state Command in conjunction with the state government.”
