Olympique Marseille have joined the race to sign Ghana midfielder Rabiu Mohammed.

The 23-year-old is being chased by Olympique Lyon following his explosive performances for both club and country.

The Evian Thonon Galard player emerged one of the revelations at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations where he excelled as the main midfield cog for the Black Stars.

He has since cemented his position in Ghana’s star-studded midfield.

Rabiu’s consistent displays have seen his stock rise rapidly with several clubs in Europe taking notice.

He is now being courted by Marseille as the direct replacement for Charles Kabore who is reportedly leaving the side to join a Russian club this summer.

Marseille’s apparent interest comes off the heels of interests from Lyon who are considered leaders in the race to sign the $8m rated midfielder.
