Job Title: Manager, Issuers
Job Location: Accra, Greater Accra Region
The Securities and Exchange Commission, a statutory body responsible for regulating the securities industry in Ghana to ensure, inter alia the orderly, fair and equitable dealing in securities, invites qualified Ghanaians for the above post.
Duties:
The applicant will report to the Head, Issuers and will assist with the:
- Review of annual reports and quarterly financial statements submitted by listed companies for compliance with securities laws and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Reviewing of securities offer documents to ensure full disclosure of relevant information to the investing public
- Examination of Mergers and acquisition applications
- On-site inspections of issuers of securities to the public to ensure compliance with the Companies Act 1963, Act 179, Securities laws and IFRS
- Liaising with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA), Ghana, on matters of accounting and auditing standards
Qualification and Requirements
The applicants should have the following qualifications:
- BSc Administration (Accounting) or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 9 years post qualification experience; or
- CA/ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
- MBA Accounting/Finance will be an advantage
- Knowledge and experience in securities market operation is desirable
- Must be computer literate
