JUSAG To Gov’t : “If A Fool Begins To Learn Sense, You Can’t Make A Fool Out Of Him”

Chairman for the Judicial Service Workers, Mr. Francis Brakwa has blatantly told government that their association is fully convinced that within a twinkle of an eye, they know government can pay them their long standing arrears without feeling any pain.

Mr. Francis Brakwa maintains that the central government demonstrated it has what it takes to settle huge debts comfortably, when it paid fat ex-gratia to members of parliament.

In an interview with Okay FM, the president for JUSAG beckoned government that they have “played the role of a fool for long” and it is about time government rounded things up by paying them their arrears.

He also divulged that the association is demanding the central government to release their subventions accrued from last year.

“If a fool begins to learn sense, you can’t make a fool out of him,” he said.

Though he revealed that members of the Judicial Service Association of Ghana (JUSAG) will meet today(Tuesday) to decide when to also embark on the strike action, he forewarned government that they won’t allow themselves to be trampled upon easily again .

If JUSAG proceeds with their intended strike, all cases pending in court are likely to be suspended, and it is believed that the petition filed by the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party for the 2012 elections and two others contesting the results of the polls, could be negatively affected by the strike.

But Mr. Francis Brakwa reacted to the issue by stating that they had long ago taken steps to go on strike to establish their displeasure and it isn’t true they were embarking on it to stall the Supreme Court process.
