Fabin names Ghana’s final squad for U-17 finals




Black Starlets coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has announced his final 21-man squad for the 2013 African U-17 Championship in Morocco.

The Ghana coach finalized his squad on Tuesday after the team’s last training match which they won 6-2 against Serie B side, Novara in Italy.

Ghana’s U-17 men’s team will depart for their base in Marrakesh on Wednesday from Italy for this month’s finals which starts on April 13 to 27, 2013.

The Black Starlets, two-time World and African champions have drawn Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Congo in Group B for the continental championship.

The semi finalists will represent Africa at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates next October.

Ghana’s squad:
Goalkeepers: Ali Mohammed, Lawrence Ati and Emmanuel Anning

Defenders: Isaac Twum, Patrick Kojo Asmah, William Dankyi, Nicholas Opoku, Yakubu Mohammed, Hamza Hamidu and Kingsley Fobih

Midfielders: Gideon Waja, Appiah MacCarthy, Caleb Gomina, Paul Asare De-Vries, Yaw Yeboah, David Atanga, Thomas Agyapong, Zakaria Mumuni and Emmanuel Oti Essigba

Strikers: Emmanuel Boateng and Benjamin Tetteh
