Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan has still not recovered from an ankle injury, two months after the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Spain-based midfielder is yet to recover from the touch-and-go injury he picked up just before the start of the tournament in South Africa.

Osasuna midfielder has been training alone in the gym as he is recovering from the setback that prevented him from fully showing his potential at the Cup of Nations.

The on-loan player from Schalke 04 has still not kicked a ball after aggravating the ankle injury during training in South Africa.

Annan was absent from the squad which lost 2-0 at home to Espanyol at the weekend in the Spanish La Liga.

Osasuna coach Jose Luis Mendilibar has not used the player since December last year when he played the entire duration in the 2-0 home defeat to Valencia in the Copa del Rey.

Last month, he was an unused substitute in Osasuna’s 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid at home.

Delays in him securing a visa ensured he reported late at the Pamplona-based club after the Nations Cup.

Annan will feel cursed after expressing his desire to fight for a place in the Osasuna set up and remain at the club after his loan spell.
