Accra, April 9, GNA – Airtel Ghana has once again been recognized with two awards for its corporate social responsibility interventions.
A statement issued in Accra, copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, said the awards that fall under the category of Public Relations Campaign of the year, and the Best Community Relations Programmes of the year, were handed over to Airtel.
It said the awards were presented at the first Public Relations Excellence Awards, organised by the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana (IPR), in Accra
The statement said the first award is in recognition of Airtel’s rescue of the Odumase Krobo Presby School, in the Eastern Region, when a student journalist brought the plight of the school to the attention of the public.
It said the second award was for Airtel Ghana’s biggest social intervention programme, which had massive impact on a wide section of Ghanaian society.
The statement mentioned that Mr. Philip Sowah said that Airtel was committed to empowering people, its employees, its customers and communities.
‘Therefore winning two awards that celebrate our values is a positive feedback that will empower us to do more,’ he said.
Mr. Sowah commended the IPR for recognizing Airtel Ghana in such a significant way.
